RESEARCH LIBRARY

Have a question about Fidalgo or Guemes Island? Need the name of the cannery at the end of K Avenue in the 1890s? Curious to know how the Marineer’s Pageant was born and why it died? Wondering what plants are native to Fidalgo and Guemes?
The Research Library has approximately six hundred books, magazines, and journals and also includes newspapers, brochures, clippings and other published and non-published sources of information on the cultural and natural history of Fidalgo and Guemes Islands. The Library also contains books and other resources concerning the museum profession and the field of historic preservation.
The purpose of the Research Library is to aid scholars and the general public interested in the study of Fidalgo and Guemes Islands. We endeavor to maintain an up-to-date accounting of the issues affecting the area and its evolving history.
Staff is available to assist with research requests. Fees may apply depending upon the amount of staff time required.

You may also E-MAIL YOUR RESEARCH QUESTIONS to coa.museum@cityofanacortes.org. Please try to give as many details as possible about your research topic, and please include your name, phone number and mailing address.
